| The trend of method acting may be the latest fad in Bollywood, but actor Shahid Kapur is not a follower of the trend. The heartthrob choses instead to follow his heart and his director. | |
| Shahid teams up with Ken Ghosh for a third time in their upcoming film 'Chance Pe Dance' and the actor says that he did not do any homework for his role except getting the famed eight pack abs that will be on display during the film. "All the homework I did for the film was centered around my stomach, my eight pack abs. I did no other homework because I am a director's actor," the actor told reporters here today. Shahid and Ghosh both debuted in Bollywood with the 2003 film 'Ishq Vishq' and the actor is happy to be back with the director who gave him his first big break. "Ghosh created my career with 'Ishq Vishq', I hope he does not destroy it with Chance Pe Dance. This is the third time that we are working together and we have come a long way, both of us," said the actor. Shahid who began his career as a back-up dancer plays a struggling actor in the film where he is paired opposite Genelia D'Souza. The actor plays a boy from Delhi, who aspires to become an actor and ends up in Mumbai where he faces the grim reality of a struggler's life. "The best part about the film is the fact that my character is somebody everyone can relate to. He is from Delhi, father owns a saree shop, but he dreams of becoming a Bollywood hero," said the actor. | |

I am a director's actor, says Shahid Kapoor
Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan share friendly vibes!
According to the latest Bollywood news, with the release of Salman’s period film ‘Veer’ just around the corner, the hunk of an actor is on a goodwill hunting as the star is indulging in garnering social niceties with his long time rival Shah Rukh Khan.
News has it that when Salman saw the rushes of SRK’s ‘My Name Is Khan’, the temperamental star called up Karan Johar and congratulated him.
Incidentally, during a recent awards function, SRK praised ‘Veer’ and said that it is one of the movies he is looking forward to watch in the year.
Talking to a news daily, a close source said, “Salman was the first to extend the olive branch by calling Karan after watching the promos of ‘My Name Is Khan’ and SRK returned it by praising ‘Veer’. They had both come face to face for the first time after the ‘3 Idiots’ premiere.”
Meanwhile, when enquired Karan Johar, the director confirmed the news and said, “Yes, Salman did call to say he loved the promos and the look of the film. I appreciate the feedback. It was very gracious of him. I have worked Salman in my first film and have a great amount of respect for him and his family.”
Bollywood's hottest with Dabboo Ratnani
This year get ready to see some of Bollywood's hottest actors in a shade you have never seen before. Having shot his glamourous models in colour all through the year, ace lensman Dabboo Ratnani decided to do something radically different for his own calendar. "All the stars are comfortable with whatever I decide. They never question me, because we have faith in each other. So whenever I discuss a concept with them, they are happy to go along. I usually share three or four different ideas with the actor. If they are not convinced, we work on it. It is important to be confident about each other; only when the model is able to relate to the picture will he or she be able to give 100 per cent to it," says Ratnani, speaking exclusively to Sarika Sharma, NDTVMovies.com.
Ratnani's calendar, which has become somewhat of a Bollywood tradition and every bit as iconic as a Pirelli, is a labour of love for the man who recently topped the list of the 10 most influential people in Asian photography.
"I have been doing the calendar for many years now. It makes me push myself to the next level. Way back in 2000 when I first shot the calendar, I gave away just a few to my close friends and people I worked with. But the response was so encouraging that I felt it was something I had to do on a regular basis. Every year the calendar pushes me to outdo my last year's work. This also helps me evolve as a photographer. All through the year I am shooting for agencies, magazines and movies but the calendar is my creative outlet," says Ratnani.
While he had shot with 48 stars in 2009 to celebrate 10 years of his calendar, this year Ratnani is back to his usual quota of 24 beautiful people from the silver screen.
